China International Water & Electric Corp. (CWE), an exclusively-invested subsidiary company of China Three Gorges Corp. (CTGC) has been practicing water resources and hydropower engineering for 54 years. We have a reputation as being one of the first few state-owned corporations approved by China State Council to undertake international contracting projects since 1980s. Over the years, as the backbone of Chinese companies engaging in overseas engineering and construction, by the end of June, 2009, we have completed over 700 international contracts in more than 60 countries and regions, with total contract value exceeding USD 7.5 billion, contributed tremendously for Chinese enterprises¡¯ ¡°Going Global¡± strategy. It is this reputation for construction excellence that makes us one of the Top 225 International Contractors continuously for 20 years and one of the Top 200 International Design Firms continuously for 9 years ranked by McGraw-Hill Construction Engineering News-Record magazine. We have been nominated as ¡°Excellent China International Contracting Enterprises¡± for two sessions. The brand ¡°CWE¡± also is listed on ¡°TOP 10 International Chinese Contractors Brands¡± in 2007 and 2008 by United Nations World Confederation of Productivity Science. CWE is endowed with the qualification for overseas projects contracting, man-power service cooperation, and construction of set economic aid projects (A Class) issued by the Ministry of Commerce. Meanwhile, we are also listed on the highest rank of contractors in HK SAR for the following project types, namely building, port, road, channel, land leveling, and water related work. CWE has always been nominated as Double Top 60 Chinese contractors for engineering and design and also as the Top 500 Chinese Construction Enterprises and Service Enterprises. CWE has accumulated abundant experience in international contracting and engineering, bring up a large number of inter-disciplinary talents with excellent knowledge and practice of both modern management expertise and advanced engineering technology. We possess wide and stable overseas market, marking outstanding competitive edge among international market while winning good reputation not only from the projected countries, but also from World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and other financial institutes around the globe. As an important vehicle to implement the ¡°Go Global¡± strategy for CTGC, CWE will focus on international hydropower project engineering, design and EPC contracting, development and investment of international resources and technology, with a view to gradually realize the development strategy of CTGC in international clean and renewable energy field.
